TIERRA MIA FESTIVAL

Tierra Mia is a one-day art festival honoring our farm-working communities, bringing awareness to our histories, cultures, and issues impacting our people.

The project began as a collaboration between artist Adam/n Perez and the Central Valley Empowerment Alliance to create a community of movement artists, performers, and culture bearers.

The festival brought about 1,500 people from farmworker communities. Through community support work boots, work shirts, hats, and heat prevention kits were distributed to farmworkers. In addition, there was immigration services, health screening, and cross-cultural knowledge sharing.

The project was supported by the California Arts Council and The Center for Cultural Power.
